Freedom Calcs offers general calculations for exploring assumptions. Results are not personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and using the tool does not establish an advisory relationship.

Assumptions and limits

Outputs depend on the values you enter and a constant-return model. They are not forecasts or guarantees. Actual returns, inflation, spending, and life events can differ. The model does not calculate taxes, fees, benefit eligibility, market volatility, lifespan, or retirement withdrawals.

Reaching Coast FIRE means meeting a modeled threshold for a later retirement target. It does not establish that living costs before retirement are covered, or that a future withdrawal plan is sustainable. Historical research cannot guarantee future outcomes or preservation of principal.

Accuracy and changes

We maintain a documented model and correction process, but software and explanations can contain errors. Review the method and limitations, and use the correction instructions for a reproducible issue. Changes with a material effect on the model are recorded in the methodology.
