Clarity before the next decision

Freedom Calcs makes retirement calculations easier to inspect, understand, and question.

Who maintains this tool

This project is maintained under the public name Freedom Calcs team. Maintains the calculator, its model documentation, sources, and correction records. We use a team name rather than publishing personal identities. We do not claim financial credentials or independent professional review.

What we set out to explain

Our first calculator addresses one question: how much needs to be invested today to grow toward a later retirement target without further savings? It keeps assumptions visible and separates a savings milestone from the ability to fund current living expenses.

The tool is free to use, needs no account, and calculates in your browser. We show deterministic scenarios and original hypothetical examples rather than promises about actual markets.

How we maintain the content

We state units and timing, trace research to original authors or institutions, and distinguish model outputs from historical evidence. Changes to formulas or assumptions must also update the examples, explanations, and verification records. See the methodology and sources.

Software testing and arithmetic checks do not amount to financial certification. We have not conducted external user research or independent licensed review, and we have no media endorsements to present.

Commercial relationships

No advertising or affiliate links are active in this version. Advertising may be considered later. Any future commercial integration will need its own disclosure, privacy review, and layout checks; it will not select calculation assumptions or change the model.

Corrections

We want reports to identify the page, a non-sensitive example, the expected outcome, and an optional source. See the correction process. A confirmed issue is checked, fixed, and recorded with the affected model version and regression checks.
